This was a really busy week for residential crime in North Taranaki.
 

Remember to keep your cars, houses, sheds, garage etc. locked and secured.
If you need to park your car on the street, find a well-lit spot and remove all valuables from the car.
 

 

 

 


Listed below is a summary of residential crime occurrences in North Taranaki for the week 17th – 23rd February 2017:

Ngaio St/Paynters Ave area
Date & Time: 08:15 on 17/02/17
Suspicious Behaviour – Male, approx. 60 years old, bald, possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol was seen yelling at boys while they were walking to school.
 
Paynters Ave/Rimu St area
Date & Time: Between 08:20 and 15:30 on 17/02/17
Unlawful Take – Vehicle stolen from roadside, later recovered.
 
Lismore St
Date & Time: Between 20:30 18/02/17 and 01:00 19/02/17
Unlawful Take – Vehicle taken from outside address and later found in Waitara.
 
Fitzroy
Record St
Date & Time: Between 12:30 and 18:30 on 18/02/17
Burglary – Offender/s entered via catdoor (reaching through to open main door); items taken – large TV (1.5m wide), 2x laptops

Date & Time: Between 12:00 and 16:00 on 18/02/17
Burglary – Woman knocked on doors in area looking for “Casey” or “Stephanie” which may be linked to two surfboards and bag later taken from garage underneath house.

Date & Time: Between 15:30 and 22:00 on 17/02/17
Burglary – Items moved around property and blood found which was not from home occupants.

Date & Time: Between 18:30 21/02/17 and 20:45 22/02/17
Wilful Damage – Vehicle parked on street outside address damaged – wing mirror broken off.
 
New Plymouth Central
Fulford St
Date & Time: 03:20 on 20/02/17
Wilful Damage – Vehicle has been damaged by people jumping on roof of car.
 
Bell Block
Camellia Ave
Date & Time: Between 21:00 19/02/17 and 13:00 20/02/17
Wilful Damage – Vehicle scratched overnight while parked outside address.
 
Marfell
Ward Place
Date & Time: Between 20:00 18/02/17 and 10:00 19/02/17
Wilful Damage – Vehicle parked on front lawn had headlight smashed and wing mirror smashed and bonnet dented.
 
Inglewood

Date & Time: Between 14:45 and 17:00 on 20/02/17
Burglary – Garage person door forced open – items taken.
 
Westown
Barrett St
Date & Time: Between 09:40 and 12:30 on 20/02/17
Burglary – Several youths broken into property and items taken – sportswear, pottery, iPhone, purse and cards, jeans
 
Carlton Tce
Date & Time: Between 21:00 17/02/17 and 09:00 18/02/17
Burglary – Vehicle left locked and secured on driveway was broken into by forcing passenger door, unknown if anything taken.
 
Waitara

Date & Time: Between 03:10 and 03:30 on 20/02/17
Burglary – Vehicle taken from driveway at back of house, later recovered with damage to ignition barrel.
 
Browne St
Date & Time: Between 20:30 19/02/17 and 08:00 20/02/17
Burglary – Vehicle taken from outside property and later found abandoned in nearby street.
 
Parris St
Date & Time: Between 22:30 18/02/17 and 08:40 19/02/17
Burglary – An attempt was made to take a vehicle from outside property, damage to ignition barrel and rear left quarter light smashed.
 
Warre St
Date & Time: Between 21:00 18/02/17 and 12:15 19/02/17
Unlawful Take - An attempt was made to take a vehicle from outside property, damage to ignition barrel and rear left quarter light smashed.
 
Okoki
Kaka Rd
Date & Time: Between 18:30 17/02/17 and 08:45 18/02/17
Burglary - Offender/s have done burnouts and caused damage to the property
