1. Press the test button to sound the alarm (use a broom handle if you can't reach the button).

2. Vacuum or dust your smoke alarms to avoid false alarms.

3. Check the expiry date, usually located on the bottom or side of the alarm. If there's no expiry date, it's best to replace the alarm.

4. If you have a 9V battery alarm, replace the battery every year. Your alarms will start to beep regularly if the battery is low.

5. Every 10 years replace all smoke alarms with new long-life photoelectric smoke alarms.

Seaview Road

Date & Time: 30 March 22:00

Suspicious Activity – An unknown male has jumped out from beside a vehicle parked on the property and run off.

Grenville Street

Date & Time: Between 30 March 22:30 and 31 March 08:25

Burglary – A vehicle (Registration DYU640) parked in the driveway of the property has been stolen.

NEW PLYMOUTH CENTRAL

Young Street

Date & Time: Between 30 March 20:00 and 31 March 09:15

Burglary – A vehicle parked outside the property has been stolen.

Lemon Street

Date & Time: Between 31 March 22:00 and 1 April 08:30

Burglary – A shed on the property has been broken into and multiple items have been stolen including: 1 x white, orange and black Pit motorbike, 1 x Milwaukee impact driver, 1 x Milwaukee tool bag and multiple hand tools.

 

BLAGDON

Bayley Road

Date & Time: Between 31 March 16:30 and 1 April 11:35

Wilful Damage – A vehicle parked outside the property has been broken into and an attempt has been made to steal the vehicle.

WESTOWN

Frankley Road

Date & Time: Between 1 April 21:30 and 2 April 09:00

Burglary – A vehicle parked outside the property has been broken into and items have been stolen including: 1 x radar detector.

MOTUROA

Simons Street

Date & Time: Between 2 April 05:45 and 2 April 05:50

Burglary – The occupant has been alerted to an unknown person in their house. When disturbed, they have left through the door and run off. A packet of tobacco has been stolen.

French Street

Date & Time: Between 3 April 01:00 and 3 April 01:30

Wilful Damage – A vehicle parked outside the property has had a window smashed.

WAITARA

Grey Street

Date & Time: 3 April 02:17

Wilful Damage – A vehicle parked outside the property has been broken into and an attempt has been made to steal the vehicle.
