Matthew-Wilson, a road safety campaigner, points out that reversing cameras and beeping sensors can significantly reduce the number of driveway accidents involving pedestrians. While these technologies may not prevent every accident, data suggests they are a crucial safety measure.
Make checking your driveway a habit you never break.

Between the phone scams, the phishing emails and the phone hackers, it seems there are more threats than ever to our personal and financial information. There are some simple things you can do to protect yourself though:
Invest in a small paper shredder and shred all personal and financial documents that aren't needed, before disposing of them.
Clean out your purse or wallet regularly to minimize losses if lost or stolen. Remove credit cards you aren't using currently and never store important documents in there.
Did you know that if your passwords are a variation of any word contained in the dictionary, chances are that hackers can figure them out? Instead, use a passphrase or group of words to make it more difficult for hackers.
Turn off the wi-fi on your smartphone before accessing online banking apps. By accessing those apps on your secure home network or using mobile data your information is more protected than on a public wifi network.

If you or a member of your household or community has a disability or any special requirement that may affect the ability to cope in a disaster, make arrangements now to get the support needed.
Create a support network, make an emergency plan and practice it with the support network.
